Microsoft Windows - A Window to the World where Imagination and Reality Converge

It was the year 2001. I still remember the day when I went to my uncle's house where I first saw a  Desktop computer. It was for my brother who was an engineering student. He switched it on and “Microsoft Windows 98" was displayed. I was only eight years old. My mind was full of curiosity as how that TV like box could produce sound, display and do such a long list of tasks in no time (Later I came to know that it was the monitor and there exist another device called CPU). My brother started doing some work in it and, I sat beside him in astonishment trying to understand what he was actually up to. To my query he replied that he was performing programming. I asked him was that all he could do on PC...He smiled and opened me a game, the Super Mario. It was then when I touched a PC for the first time. My interests grew more when he showed me the MS Paint,Word Pad,Pinball game, and a small video of an animal. As days passed by and days turned into years, I got more familiar with the Windows. Slowly, I realized the Microsoft Windows is indeed a "World where Imagination and Reality Converge". I could see the world through it; and for the last 13 years saga of MICROSOFT has been a never ending kaleidoscope travelling from an era of Windows 95, through Windows 98, XP, Windows 7,Windows 8..to Windows 8.1 being my current platform.

Microsoft Windows Logo History

From 5th std. I started getting familiar with MS Word,MS Excel, MS Power Point and Calculators. Gradually I became aware of the growing development of the Microsoft Windows. As time passed I started keeping my PC updated with the versions of Windows , i.e. Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and finally windows 8.1 . Not only the Windows, I had become familiar with most of the other Microsoft Office apps, viz. Word, Visio etc. As time passed by I became more and more interested in Microsoft apps because they have a superb user friendly interface. Recently I joined as Windows Developer,I got free access to a number of programming tools of Dreamspark and MSDN which I readily exploited to sharpen and cherish my coding skills.

Now moving to the Windows Phone, era Microsoft has grabbed a good section of market with Windows Phone OS.I own Lumia 720.I stared it win Lumia Windows Phone 8 Orange, then to Lumia Amber, then to Lumia Black. Presently I'm using the developer Update of Windows Phone 8.1.With the introduction of WP 8.1, the scenario has changed. The most important feature is the File Manager followed by drop down notification centre. The UI is just awesome.

Today recalling my experience I had with Microsoft and I feel that Microsoft has played a crucial role in improving the technical skill. But still in this world of growing technology,I continue to follow the development of Microsoft.Being a Microsoft Student Associate, I would like to conduct technical awareness to the remote masses through workshops, boot camps, presentations etc. ensuring that it creates a positive impact on them. With the help of Microsoft product I will attempt to improve the technical environment of my institute so that my friends and juniors can have a clear glimpse of the power of computer, obviously Microsoft being the prime mover.
